  • What is an LPC-Intern
An LPC-Intern has completed a Masters program and passed a state licensure exam. Before a full license is granted interns must complete 3,000 supervised hours. Interns meet with a supervisor on a weekly basis to discuss professional development and treatment techniques.
  • How often do I have to come?
The frequency of your sessions is totally customizable and will be suited to meet your needs. Generally clients come on a weekly or biweekly basis.
  • Is therapy confidential?
The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist, and information cannot be disclosed without written permission. However, there are number of exceptions to this rule. Exceptions include: -Suspected child abuse or dependant adult or elder abuse. The therapist is required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately. -If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s. The therapist must notify the police and inform the intended victim. -If a client intends to harm himself or herself. The therapist will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, further measures may be taken without their permission in order to ensure their safety.
  • What does the first session usually look like?
During our first session together we will meet and discuss the intake paperwork. We will also talk about what you are hoping to get out of counseling and try to narrow down your goals. This is also a great time to ask any questions about the counseling process you may have.
